Gifts for Postpartum Mommas

Mommas need love too!

Recently I became a mom for the very first time. I had no idea how difficult birth or postpartum would be. To be honest, birth was the only thing I was worried about. I wasn’t focused on the postpartum period and hardly prepared for it. Luckily some of my family and friends knew how to care for me and spoiled the heck out of me to say the least. All this to say, if you know a momma who is expecting, giving a simple gift or putting together a gift basket can mean the world to her. I have compiled a list of some of the things that meant a lot to me. And some additional things that I also would have loved to receive.

1. Nipple Butter

This one is especially for first time mommas! This helps soothes and moisturize those tender nipples that can become dry and cracky from the constant wet to dry environment.

2. Afterbirth Sitz Bath

After labor and delivery, I sat in a bath every day for the next couple weeks. This herbal blend did wonders! Getting some alone time in the bath is also necessary. Mommas need cared for too! Not just the baby;)

3. Loose Leaf Teapot (pair this with the tea soak above!)

This gift can be paired with the gift above or on it’s own! This Teapot is not only a great price, but also is a memorable gift. Your momma will cherish this gift for years to come and remember this special time by using it.

This is also a great option for nursing or pumping as well:)

5. Chocolate! Chocolate! Chocolate!

I can’t say it enough! Spoil your momma with this sweet treat! Make it special...get her this Trader Joe’s chocolate!

6. Mother’s Milk Tea

This tea promotes a healthy supply of milk for your nursing momma. Plus it’s organic! And tastes delicious!

7. Essential Oils

A five pack of essential oils to help your momma relax is a must. I especially loved Lavender! These five specifically are uplifting and relaxing.

And if your momma doesn’t have an essential oils diffuser…why not throw one in with the gift! Here’s a smaller one on the cheaper end of things:)

8. Must have Postpartum Care!

I can’t explain how amazing these cooling pads felt! Any new momma needs these to help soothe the pain.

This paired with the cooling pads above have an amazing pain relieving affect. Let your momma know that she can spray it directly on the painful area or on her pad. Both ways work!

I wish I had these instead of ice wrapped in a towel(I think🥴)

I personally liked the full underwear pad combo better than trying to peal a pad and stick it to my underwear that might get ruined!

9. Nursing Momma Essential!

Last but not least, my favorite! The nursing Silverettes! These saved my booty when it came time to nursing for the first time. And yes, they do have to have real sterling silver! Not only does the silver itself bring a healing affect to the nipples, Silverettes create a barrier between sore nipples and the material rubbing against them.
